Thomas de Visser is a Dutch professional drummer who specializes in jazz whilst also having stage and studio experience in a large variety of music styles. Thomas holds a Master of Music from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and recently taught at the Music Department of the Ionian University in Greece. He is currently living in Lisbon, where he worked his way into the international music scene.
Playing concerts in cities like Berlin, Istanbul, Rio de Janeiro, Brussels, Amsterdam, Porto Alegre, and Antwerp has given him the opportunity to work with great artists, including Joe Cohn, John Ruocco, Simon Rigter, Martin Fondse, Rob van Kreeveld, Jorge Pardo, Ondrej Stveracek, Jos Machtel, Mete Erker and many more.
Thomas studied with some of the finest drummers in the Netherlands, amongst them the great Eric Ineke, Stefan Kruger, Joost Patocka, and the acclaimed American drummer, Steve Clover.
Over the last years he has been playing at big festivals, including the North Sea Jazz Festival, the National Youth Orchestra Summer Festival, the Besiktas Music Festival in Istanbul, the Duke Town Jazz Festival, and the International Jazz Festival Middelburg. As well as smaller venues and theaters, including Club Bird in Rotterdam, Club Monk in Brussels, Theater Clio in Porto Alegre, Club Poly Techno in Corfu, Badehaus in Berlin, Anton Philips Hall, Paard van Troje, North Sea Jazz Club, Jazz Club Hopper in Antwerp, Kurhaus in Scheveningen and Club Muze in Antwerp.
